The tasco Wal-Mart special:
This is as cheap as you can get for a scope that works
reasonably well. A 3-9x40 will run you $30-$40 they sell rings for $5 more.
They are in the sporting goods section. It has capped turrets and once
un-capped the adjusters have no numerical markings.
THE GOOD:
It works great for the range, out to 100 yards.
THE BAD:
This is not a high quality scope, don’t try to make it
something it isn’t, this will not survive a 30.06.
It’s not easily sighted in.
The zoom is difficult to manipulate.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
This will likely surprise you, but I feel there is a place
in the shooting sports for this scope. This is the optic I would recommend to
anyone looking to scope a pellet gun, .22lr, or non-heavy barrel .17hmr. It has
reasonably clear glass, it handles light recoil like a champ, stays zeroed fine
and isn’t too much of an eye sore. Your 10/22 will thank you for getting it
this scope.
